The Kalberstraat located next to the Dam Square in Amsterdam, is undoubtedly considered the most popular shopping street in the city. You will find there all the brands, a large selection of clothing and footwear stores, accessories, fast food, coffee shops, and souvenirs for tourists.
Over the years, the long street from Dam Square to the Montplein (coin tower near the Floating Flower Market) has become the main and busiest shopping street in Amsterdam (on Saturdays, over 90,000 people pass here on average). This street has a 600-year history. If you rewind the clock to the 14th century, farmers were walking their cows through this area on their way to market.

Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet

Outlet in Batvia Stad is the first brand outlet opened in the Netherlands in 2001 and is located on the shore of Lake Markermeer in the city of Lelystad. The name of the outlet is given after the name of the Batavia ship from 1628 (Batavia was also in the 17th and 18th century the city where the main headquarters of the Dutch shipping company VOC in Indonesia was located – today known as Jakarta). A replica of this ship is permanently docked at the dock adjacent to the shopping center.
The outlet stores are built of wooden buildings in different colors and the shopping center is surrounded by a high wall and several cannons from the 17th century decorate this wall.
